Countryside & Community

Cambodia has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world.  Low literacy rates are a consequence of Cambodia’s troubled past.  Rural areas have suffered the most.

If these children cannot read or write, they have little chance of escaping lifelong poverty and exploitation.  With literacy and the ability to learn, they have hope for a better life.  The Cambodia Countryside Foundation is a privately run, non-profit corporation, which is tax exempt under 501(c)(3),  formed to improve the learning environment in rural schools around Siem Reap. Cambodia.
Learning begins with a healthy school environment, adequate school supplies for the children, and teaching materials for the teachers.  Progress begins with small steps.  The Cambodia Countryside Foundation is currently providing assistance to three rural schools outside Siem Reap. Cambodia.  The Foundation’s goal is to install working wells, and latrines at each of these schools; provide pads, pencils and erasers to each child; and give the teachers the teaching aids to effectively teach.

We are a small and personal organization.  Our three board members are committed to helping the children of Rural Cambodia.  Because of this personal interest, the Board Members will donate all funds necessary to pay administrative expenses, so that 100% of all contributions will go to the projects in Rural Cambodia.  The Foundation relies solely on private donations and support.  Your donations and support will help us accomplish our goals.
